Okay, yesterday I was just about finished wit the vest for my mother's co-worker but when she saw it she said that it looked to girly. Here is what it looked like before de-girling it.

I think that the reason it looked to girly to her was because the yarn that the pattern called for was discontinued so I had to substitute the best I could. Chenille yarn was the only option I had so I took it. I changed the collar so that it would not look so girly to my mother and my friends who also thought it was to girly. This is the finished product.

This pattern is from one of my favorite lines of designs Dale of Norway. I love this pattern because it has a little flap for the car seat. This is just something that I am working on for fun.

This is a scarf ( I guess) that is made from Blue Heron yarns 100% mercerized
cotton. 1 hank of this is enough for a shawl. But since I am a big girl I knew that wouldn't be the case for me.

This is one legwarmer that I finished for my niece. She was with me in the yarn store one day and loved the color of this yarn. She told me she wanted me to knit her some half-stockings for dancing, like the ones they wear in the movie Center Stage. She is pretty bossy for an 8 year old.

These are three of the recently finished baby blankets I have done. the top two are from the Candy Blankets book and the last is from Knit Along With Debbie Macomber: The Shop on Blossom Street.

This is a blanket for a woman that works with my mom. I had sworn off of any more baby projects after people in my church expected an item from me if they were expecting. However, I really like this person so I decided to make this for her.

So I then remembered that I had this pattern and some yarn for it. Since she is having a boy ( crossing fingers) I figured that I could make this for her as well.

This is how far I have gotten on it. I did this in three hours. But then again this is crocheted.

This is the start of one of my projects that I am knitting. However this will be the first of my own garments. I am not sure what kind of garment this will be, maybe a scarf or some kind of shawl, I don't know. I'm really making this up as I go at this point.

These are the three yarns I am using and all purchased at the same time ( I won't tell you how much I spent that day). The yarn on the left is 100% cotton worsted from Blue Sky Alpacas. I picked this up when I was first getting started and I really didn't have any clue about buying yarn for projects so I only have three skeins. I just knew I had to have it.

The ball in the middle is Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk. It is more of a natural color with some dark flecks in it. This is incredibly soft and I just fell in love with it when I touched it. I have four balls of this.

And lastly the yarn on the right. This Classic Elite Lush, which is a wool/angora blend. I don't know why I picked this up, I think I just liked the color.

Yarn Stash or Big Mess

I thought it only fitting to start this blog with a picture of the stash that has somehow taken over my bedroom. Since I have purposed to not by any more yarn until this has dwindled a bit.
Of course I always say that and I always buy more. You probably can't tell from the picture but that tub in the last picture is a 30 gal. tub full of yarn. And when I say full, I mean full. I had to sit on top of the lid so the yarn would squish down and I could close it.
